    Job Title: Design Associate
    Reports to: Principal

    Function of the Position:
    The Design Associate will collaborate with and support the Principal in all phases of project
    delivery, including project advocacy, coordination, programming, schematic design, design
    development, construction documents, construction administration and practice management.

    The Design Associate must be able to do the following tasks in their job function:
    - Preparing graphics to support space programming and site planning as well as developing
    of elevations, sections, 3D renderings and architectural details
    - Assist in the architectural design process from space programming and project advocacy,
    conceptual design through overall completion of projects
    - Assist with contract administration responsibilities
    - Participate in the architectural design process and develop alternative solutions and
    presentation graphics used to communicate concepts to the client or for agency approval
    - Perform redline changes and revisions
    - Participate in the review of product or shop drawing submittals during the construction
    - Organize and maintain project and practice files
    - Research to support project needs
    - Documentation to support project needs
    - LEED related research and documentation to support LEED Certification (LEED New
    Construction, LEED Schools, LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance)
    - Creation and maintenance of project related websites

    - BS Architecture or BARCH Degree from a NAAB accredited university
    - Up to 5 years experience
    - Registered or on track toward architectural licensure
    - LEED Green Associate; LEED AP BD+C or LEED AP EB:O&M Preferred
    - Communication and interpersonal skills necessary for effective collaboration and relationship
    - Exceptional conceptual design skills and the ability to translate them using a variety of
    methods including freehand sketches/renderings, graphic renderings, CAD drawings and
    computer models
    - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    - The ability to formulate design presentation strategies and present at client interviews,
    professional seminars, in-house meetings, etc.
    - AutoCAD Architecture, Adobe Design CS Suite, and Microsoft Office proficiency required
    - Experience with 3D modeling and BIM software preferred
    - Experience with DreamWeaver or other template driven website design software preferred
    $15 – 25 an hour
