Position Overview This position will be in the New Construction Organization within Southern California Edison (SCE)’s Customer Service Organizational Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Senior Technical Specialist in delivery of new construction programs and services to industry entities and customers involved in the design and development of new and major renovation projects. Typical responsibilities will include: interacting as part of the delivery team; utilizing design documents to determine baseline data needed to provide customized energy solutions; reviewing and validating preliminary design drawings and documentation; tracking progress on initial phases of new construction projects; documenting and presenting results from document analysis; preparing closing documents for completed projects; attending industry association and design team meetings; and performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned. Job Requirements
- Must possess two or more years of experience in the field of building mechanical and electrical systems design. - Must possess a combination of education, training, and experience to obtain knowledge and abilities generally equivalent to those typically possessed by a person with an Associate’s Degree in a related field, such as engineering, architecture, environmental studies, business and/or marketing. - Demonstrated experience interpreting and understanding construction documents, including plans, specifications, and other supporting data. - Demonstrated experience with energy use in buildings and how energy-using systems such as lighting, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, building envelope, and various process systems function and interact with each other. - Demonstrated experience with ensuring the focus needed when responding to clients’ business needs. - Demonstrated experience balancing and organizing multiple projects, reviewing and documenting project progress, and reviewing and updating scope and progress for construction projects. - Demonstrated ability to validate and accurately analyze information, and make sound decisions that have considerable business impact. - Demonstrated experience interfacing effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, management, and vendors to successfully meet shifting needs. - Must have strong oral and written communication skills. - Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications. - Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers. - Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation. - Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
Preferences - Familiarity with AutoCad or related design programs to facility building takeoffs and space calculations.
