Welcome message by Ventura Food Co-op.
Fire is a natural primal element, but the devastation was man made. Our First Peoples burned brush every couple years to manage nutrients, soil microbes, and improve the ecology for deer and acorns. How do we learn to use fire as a tool and build homes and landscapes that resist fires?
Our best assets in any emergency are neighbors that we know and have shared experience working on projects together.
To learn more, come to Rebuild Ventura at Harvest Café, 175 S Ventura Ave, Jan 1, 9 am to 3 pm for a sharing of regenerative building ideas.
A monthly series of talks sponsored by Ventura Food Coop will follow.
